Welcome to General Chemistry 1/2 with Science Guyz!

Chapter Workshops: For approximately each chapter covered in your course textbook, there will be a corresponding chapter workshop provided by us. You will pick up the physical packet at our storefront located at 250 W Broad Street STE 102, but the video corresponding to the workshop can be watched from home. These videos will typically range from 1.5 – 2 hours and provide you with an in-depth walk-through of that chapter’s materials through detailed notes and example problems. These workshops are designed to be watched before you start the material in the lecture so that you are better prepared for the lecture. Release dates for all workshops can be found on the calendar provided on the Science Guyz website.
Exam Reviews & Mock Exams: The Sunday prior to your scheduled lecture exams, we will release an Exam Review and a Mock Exam. There will be an Exam Review and Mock Exam for each scheduled lecture exam, including the Final Exam. Like the Chapter Workshops, these packets must be picked up at our store front, however, the corresponding video can be watched from home.
The Exam Reviews will cover all material on the lecture exam. The objective of the Exam Reviews is to provide a holistic review of the material to help highlight content that you are comfortable with versus content that you are less comfortable with. The Exam Reviews will pay special attention to topics that show up most frequently on exams.
Mock Exams are full-length practice exams designed to mimic your actual exam. We recommend that you take the mock exam without any notes to help you prepare accordingly. A video key is published on the streaming site for you to check your answers.
Office Hours: These are designated times for you to get help with homework or ask content questions. Office hours will primarily occur in our store. Office hours times and format for each day can be found on the calendar on the Science Guyz website.
Lastly, I want to emphasize that we do not communicate with the chemistry department, instead we communicate with you all. If there are any changes in class, please let us know ASAP. The quicker we know something is changing, the better the chances are that we can update our materials or release supplemental materials for you.
Hopefully, this overview video has provided you with an explanation of all the resources available to you. Please reach out to us at [email protected] or give us a call at 706-723-8436 with any questions. Good luck!
